Volunteering

78p of every pound is spent on patient care!

Hold your own events!

Volunteers are the backbone, the heart and the soul of St Andrew's Hospice. We simply couldn't function without them.

And the great thing is, it's a two-way process: we get the help and support that we need to provide our patients with first class care, and our volunteers get a huge amount of satisfaction out of working with us.

At least that's what they keep telling us!

What the nice people keep saying about us!

Hilary Anguish ‘I go home tired but having had a lot of fun .....I get a great deal of satisfaction from being part of the Hospice movement and know that all I’ve done is appreciated.’ Hilary Anguish
Ann Jackson ‘If you say the word “Hospice” to people they think it is a sad place where people go to die, it’s nothing like that.’ Ann Jackson
Wendy Hardy ‘It gives me a great feeling knowing I am helping people less fortunate than myself ’ Wendy Hardy
Janet Gymer ‘I’ve met some wonderful people, and I would recommend being a volunteer to everyone.’ Janet Gymer
Jim Oakes ‘I have been volunteering at the Louth shop since it opened in 2006, I look after the books and do the PAT testing - My wife volunteers too and we really enjoy helping out.’ Jim Oakes
Carl Grant ‘The day I started at the Hospice is the most satisfying thing I have ever done...’ Carl Grant
Matthew Borman ‘This is by far the most rewarding job ... that I have had.’ Matthew Borman

Thinking about volunteering?

If you live in Lincolnshire, Hull or the East Riding of Yorkshire, and you have at least three or four hours to spare each week, we'd love to hear from you! There are so many ways in which you could help. Why not start by taking a look at the current vacancies?

Meet some of the gang!

Why not view a selection of photographs of our volunteers in action!
